The Pandolfa estate has a long and storied history, dating all the way back to the 15th century. As legend has it, that was when Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, "the wolf of Rimini," lived in the area. In recent times, the estate is run by Marco Cirese, a visionary who’s determined to showcase all that Sangiovese is capable of without over-extraction. This is a taut, high-toned wine, displaying juicy Morello cherry and red plum flavors, followed by just enough oak to provide structure and length to the finish. Enjoy this buoyant red alongside lighter red meats like veal or tomato sauce-based dishes.
