Pink-orange color; pretty intense. Surprisingly effervescent, not very dry, floral on the nose at first, but after breathing for a little, more of strawberry, red berry. Minerally on the palate, slight bitterness in the back. Not super complex, medium bodied, nice for a hot day, with light appetizers.
To reiterate, I am NOT a rose person. But this is actually the first bottle I ever really enjoyed. Balanced, light and mostly dry, with jammy fruit accents and a pleasant aftertaste. Not sure if it's the classic Vin Gris approach or just the specific expression, but I liked this. Surprisingly.
While this wine does indeed have forward notes of strawberry, watermelon, it is fairly dry and not sweet. Slightly bold. All around delicious. My favorite wine in this months shipment of Tasting Room wines. Absolutely lovely on a warm summer night.
Good wine for a hot day!
I'm usually not a rose fan, but this is pretty good. Fruit notes, but not overly fruity. Not sweet, with a slightly bitter finish.
