Château Gantonnet dates back to the 19th century, situated in Sainte Radegonde, which is in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation. The Richard's Family owns the notorious Chateau La Nerthe in Chateauneuf De Papes, with three additional Bordeaux properties including Château Gantonnet. Château Gantonnet estate consists of 83 hectares, with 70 hectares of red grape varieties. The Estate overlooks the village with a excellent Southern exposure. A Classic Bordeaux with aromas of plum, black and red berry fruit, with a slight cedary finish. Generous tannins and textures, well-structured and drinking beautifully.
This is probably my favorite Bordeaux. Not too heavy, good flavor, and not too tannic. I'm definitely going to order this again!

Chateau Gantonett Blend
Earthy and herbal on the nose; Lots of herb, grass, green pepper. Needed at least an hour to decant to tame it and get to the fruit; then you get a nice blending of acid, tannin and fruit. Really good with meatballs and pasta.

Not For Me
I don't tend to like Merlot, but, since it came in my box and was 30% cab, I gave it a try. It was only drinkable by making it into a wine spritzer with juice and seltzer over ice. I'll probably have to plan to make sangria with the second bottle to get through it.
